Frances Ripepi scored both goals yesterday in the Panthers 2-0 victory over Hudson Valley Community College.
The Panthers dominated the game from the opening kick but were unable to find the back of the net until late in the first half when Ripepi slipped the ball around the near post into the goal on a corner kick.
The score was 1-0 at halftime, and the the Panthers outshot the Vikings by a margin of 8-3.
The Vikings fought back taking 6 shots in the second half but the Panthers outnumbered them again with 9 shots. Ripepi scored the final goal of the game off of a direct kick at the top of the box with 23 minutes remaining to solidify the win for the Panthers.
Alexandra Weston made six saves in net to preserve the shutout. The Panthers improve to 7-3-1 on their season as the Vikings fall to 5-8-0.
The Panthers will face The Knights of Berkeley College on Saturday, October 13th at 1:30 pm for their last regular season conference game.
