The ACPHS women's basketball team used stifling defense and a balanced offensive attack to defeat Alfred University by a score of 47-34 on Friday evening.
Megan Serley and
Kelsey Johnson each scored 11 points for the Panthers and
Taylor Sullivan pulled down a career-high 15 rebounds as ACPHS earned a third straight victory to improve to 7-1 on the season.
The Saxons were held to just 23% shooting from the field as ACPHS slowly pulled away in the second half. Alfred scored just three points in the first eight minutes of the second half as the Panthers extended the lead to 10 points. Serley hit the two biggest baskets of the game as she connected on two straight thee-point shots to put the game away for ACPHS.
ACPHS, the third ranked team in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association Division II Poll, does not play again until Friday, January 18 when they travel to Boston to face off against Fisher College.
