Panthers Bounce Back With Another Win

BOX SCORE

Albany, N.Y. -- The Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences women's basketball team (11-2) defeated the visiting SUNY Delhi Broncos (2-13) on Monday afternoon at Albert M. White Gymnasium by a final score of 65-25.  ACPHS led comfortably throughout the game to secure the win and bounce back from their first HVIAC conference loss of the season the day before, when they fell 44-38 at the hands of Berkeley College.

The Panthers jumped out to an early lead behind strong first-half performances from Kelsey Johnson, Alexa Schooley, and Taylor Sullivan.  ACPHS forced 18 turnovers in the first twenty minutes, leading to a 36-9 Panther advantage at the half which they did not relinquish after the break.  The Panthers were led by Johnson's game-high 13 points.  Schooley and Sullivan also contributed 12 and 10 points respectively, with 6 rebounds apiece.  Delhi was led by Emily Caceres's 13 points, though she struggled from the floor, shooting just 6-29.

The Panthers return to action Wednesday night, when they will hit the road to take on St. Joseph's of Vermont, beginning a three-game stretch of conference matchups.  They return home on Saturday, January 25 to take on Vaughn College at 1:00 pm.  Saturday's game, and all Panther home games, can be heard on redzonemedia.com, with the voice of the Panthers, Matt Tymann.
