Hamilton College's size and strength were too much for the Panthers on Sunday afternoon. Despite trailing 32-16 at the half, the Panthers fought back in the second half led by Senior Rochelle Whitton's team high 16 points and 4 steals.
A close game throughout the 3rd quarter, the Panthers fought hard but Hamilton pulled away to win 62-52 in front of their home crowd. Hamilton's size was in full effect the whole game, holding ACPHS to just 28% shooting from the floor and recording an impressive 13 blocked shots to go along with 10 steals.
All NESCAC player Sam Graber led Hamilton with 15 points and 9 rebounds in the winning effort. In addition to Whitton's 16 points, Sophomore Dannie Griffin had 8 points and 9 rebounds, Freshman Sarah Pacheco poured in 15 points including 10-10 from the foul line.
Hamilton won the rebounding battle 43-37. The Panthers shot 22-32 from the free throw line and created 5 steals compared to Hamilton's 10 steals. A quick turnaround for the Panthers as they will host NCAA Division 3 Green Mountain College Tuesday Night, 6 pm tip!
