BOX SCORENew Rochelle, NY, The ACPHS Women's Basketball team advanced to the finals of the HVIAC conference tournament yesterday as they defeated the Pratt Institute 78-29. The host team, The College of New Rochelle, also earned a spot in the finals after an overtime thriller against Davis College.
The Panthers were hot from the opening tip as they scored first and only allowed two points in the first quarter, and averaged 71% from the charity stripe.
Senior
Ayla Thompson led all scorers, and earned a double-double, with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Freshman
Sarah Pacheco chipped in with 14 points, while Seniors
Morgan Esperti and
Miranda Costin each added 12.
The Panthers will face The College of New Rochelle today at New Rochelle at 3pm hoping to win their first conference championship since 2012.
