Box Score
ACPHS lost 6-0 to non-league opponents Bryant & Stratton on Thursday night. With the loss, the Panthers fall to 1-3, while the Bobcats move to 3-0.

The first half was not kind to the Panthers, as they conceded five times and twice in one 33-second span. The Panther best chance to score in the half came following a dazzling run by senior Zak Giorgi (Whitesboro, NY / Whitesboro High School). Giorgi picked up the ball at the halfway line and beat three Bobcat defenders before feeding the ball to junior Mina Girgis (Canyon Country, CA / John Burroughs HS). Girgis held up play just long enough for freshman Dylan Davie (Chittenango, NY / Chittenango) to join the attack and have a chance at goal. Davie put his shot too close to Bobcat keep Refik Begic, who saved easily.

The Bobcats' first came from a bit of a fumble by junior goalkeeper Matt Houlihan (Levittown, NY / Kellenberg Memorial High School). Stratton's Zino Zampach sent a speculative effort towards Houlihan that skipped up on him and glanced off his shoulder above forward Hassan Abdi. Abdi leaped up and scissor-kicked the ball just above Houlihan, and the Panthers were down 1-0 in the 16th minute.

got on the scoresheet himself in the 25th minute. The ACPHS had a chance to clear the ball, but weren't able to and Zampach picked up the ball 10 yards from goal. He used the outside of his boot to finish above Houlihan for a 2-0 lead. The Bobcats' Kennil Polius would score just 33 seconds later off of a long assist from Joshua Martin. Polius took the ball down and finished near-post for Bryant's third goal.

Polius netted again in the 30th minute with a lucky bounce from a Panthers clearance attempt. An ACPHS defender tried to clear a ball two yards from goal that hit Polius in the chest and went straight back into the net. The final first half goal came from midfielder Mattieu Leroux when defender Connor McGoldrick floated a ball over the entire back-line that Leroux finished in lower right after just one touch.

Down 5-0 going into the second, the Panthers sat back and conceded possession for the entirety of the period. McGoldrick hooked up with Polius in the 77th minute for the sixth Bryant goal and Polius' hat-trick. ACPHS was outshot 24-5 in total and 14-2 on goal. Houlihan finished with six saves in 45 minutes and drops to 1-3 on the season.

The Panthers are back in action this Saturday, September 17th at home to SUNY-ESF for their second HVIAC game at 5:30pm. Bryant travels to Villa Maria on Saturday at 4pm.
