Panthers Earn Road Wins

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The ACPHS men's and women's soccer teams traveled to Paul Smith's, NY on Saturday, September 3rd to compete in a double header against USCAA opponents Paul Smith's College. Both teams displayed their dominance with the women winning 10-0, and the men winning 5-1. 

The women's team kicked off first and dominated possession from the get go. Opening up the scoring for the Panthers was senior midfielder, and All-American, Katie Parsels who blasted a left footed shot from the top of the box into upper corner of the goal. Sophomore All-Americans Erin Tersegno and Katie Benson went on a scoring spree with Tersegno notching the next three goals and Benson adding two of her own. Junior Kennedy Rives would add a goal of her own to send the Panthers into the halftime break.

The second half saw the Panthers continue their winning ways with Tersegno, Parsels and Rives all adding one more goal each. The team improves to 1-1 on the season and will face Hudson Valley Community College at home on Tuesday, September 6th at 7pm.

Next up the men's team kicked off, and despite dominating possession in the opening minutes, Paul Smith's got on the board first with a goal at the 29th minute. This energized the Panthers and they answered back two minutes later with a goal from senior striker Zak Giorgi to tie the game. Just one minute later the Panthers would take the lead on a goal from Steve Dumas. The Panthers would go into the half with a 2-1 lead. 

In the second half the Panthers would extend their lead with goals from Mina Girgis, Jack Hanlon, and Reid LaPlante to finish out the contest 5-1 and start out their season 1-0. They look to continue their winning ways on Friday at 7pm when they face Dean College at home.
