ACPHS Women's Basketball fell to NCAA-opponent Hamilton on Tuesday night, 75-33. On the year, the Panthers are now 4-9, while the Continentals improved their overall record 13-5.

Despite the Panthers working hard on ball movement and cutting down on their turnovers, their defense could not hold up against a Hamilton team that shot the lights out in the first quarter. They made 13 of their 20 attempts in the opening ten minutes (65.0%), jumping out to a 32-7 lead after the dust had settled. By halftime, Hamilton had poured in 20 of 38 shots (52.6%) and were out-rebounding the Panthers 27-11. The second half was much more competitive, as ACPHS tightened up on the defensive end but could still not find their rhythm on offense. In the fourth quarter, Hamilton only edged the Panthers by two points, but it was too little too late.

Every single player that checked in for the Continentals recorded at least one made field goal and one rebound. The discrepancies in secondary stats were also quite astounding. Hamilton outscored Albany 40-8 in the paint, 21-4 off of turnovers, and 43-1 in bench points. For Hamilton, big games came from Lauren Getman and Scout Lansing. Getman made three of five shots for eight points, adding five assists and one block in just 11 minutes, while Lansing scored just four points but recorded five assists and three steals. For Albany, it was the usual suspects: senior Dannie Griffin (Patterson, NJ / Paramus Catholic) and sophomore Emma Webster (Cadyville, NY / Saranac High). Griffin was unable to reach her typical double-double, but finished with 13 points, nine boards and two steals. Webster also scored in double figures with ten points.

ACPHS will look to rebound this Saturday, January 27^th, when they resume conference play at Davis College at 1pm.
