Box Score ACPHS Women's soccer celebrated their senior day with a win on Saturday, beating the College of New Rochelle Blue Angels 13-0 in the 2018 HVIAC Tournament semi-finals. The win improved the Panthers' overall record to 8-4-0.
Prior to the contest, Albany took some time to honor their six seniors, all of which had been major contributors during their time at the College:
Erin Tersegno (Webster, NY / Webster Thomas),
Cora Bruno (Margaretville, NY / Margaretville Central),
Sydney Rule (Ballston Spa, NY / Ballston Spa),
Molly Mancini (Galway, NY / Galway),
Maggie Lawler (Albany, NY / Guilderland Central), and
Katie Benson (Clifton Park / Shenendehowa). Those seniors put on a show during the game, with Tersegno leading the way with three goals and one assist.
It was Tersegno and Mancini who hooked up on the game's first goal in the 2
nd minute, and that ended up being all the Panthers needed on a day that saw them dominate possession. ACPHS scored three goals in the opening ten minutes, and ten in the first half. The game was shortened by rain in a second half, giving the Panthers extra time to rest before they face SUNY-ESF in the 2018 HVIAC Women's Soccer Tournament Championship Game tomorrow. The teams have split the last five league championships, which ACPHS winning from 2013-2015 and ESF winning the previous two.
