The ACPHS Women's Basketball team lost their second game in a row on Saturday, falling to the Southern Maine Community College Seawolves 72-28. The Panthers are now 0-2 overall, while the Seawolves are 4-0.
Maine came out scorching hot on both ends of the floor, scoring the game's first 15 points while holding the Panthers without a bucket for the opening seven minutes. They outscored Albany 21-6 and forced 12 turnovers all in opening ten minutes. Things did not get much better in the second quarter, as the Seawolves extended their lead to 38-14 before the half.
Albany was able to score ten of their 28 points in the fourth quarter, but it wasn't enough, as they were outrebounded 66-37 allowed Maine to connect on 20 more field goals. Only one player scored in double figures for the Seawolves, junior Nyakuoth Mach, who hit three of the team's five three pointers. For the Panthers
Ava Misner (Meriden, CT / Platt) led the way with nine points and four steals.
Albany will look to bounce back on Tuesday, November 11
th, when they host Bard College at 6:00 PM.
