Albany, NY - In an effort to bounce back from their loss against Sage on Wednesday night, they were ready for their busy weekend. First game on the schedule for them was against Landmark College. The end of the day, Panthers came away with the win for their third straight win at home.
The Panthers opened up the game hot, and jumped out to an early huge lead. The Panthers found themselves shooting an amazing sixty seven percent from the field in the first half. They were hitting their shots, and getting each other all involved. Clarence Claibornce Jr. (Petersburg, VA) led the way for the Panthers in passing with four assists.
Logan Yohe(Delmar, NY) was not too far off having 3 assists himself. The defense was once again a big factor for the Panthers as they totaled nine steals in the first half. The Panthers saw themselves up by over 30 at the half, with nine different players scoring. The scoring was led by
Tristan Lisbony (Friendswood, TX) with 13 points, and
Nathan Lynes (Miami, FL) with 10 points.
The Panthers did more of the same in the second half, with strong defense and good shooting. The Panthers totaled six steals in this half, and another over sixty percent shooting half. The scoring for this half was led by
Brennan Elzy (Louisville, KY) with 12 points, and
Logan Yohe (Delmar, NY) who had 10 points.
Keaton Christianson (Hermantown, MN) was able to grab 9 rebounds in the half, as well as score 6 points bringing his total to 13 points, 11 rebounds for his first career double-double. Elzy led all scorers with 14 points off four made threes. The Panthers walked away with a very big win at the end of the day.

After the game, assistant coach
Tyrell Walker was asked his thoughts about be the head coach for part of the second half and how the guys played. His response was, "Honestly, I was telling coach Coleman before, it was good to get those guys a live look, and into the game. They came out, gave us really good energy, and we are gearing up for our first conference game tomorrow. " On his talk about the bench unit, Walker was asked about Keaton's first career double-double, and Brennan leading all scorers. He responded saying, "Shoutout to my boy Keaton, he rocking out of Minnesota. Honestly, it is a beautiful thing because I have been trying to get Keaton onto the court and I wanted to get him out there for defense, but his defense turned to offense. As for Brennan, he coming out of Kentucky. That was his first live minutes, and honestly, he was just amazing. He has been waiting for it, and it was a good example of staying ready."
After securing his first double-double of his young career,
Keaton Christianson was asked his thoughts on the double double. He responded praising his team saying, "I think we did alright. We started to come together in the second half, so I thought we played very well as a team overall." He was then asked to touch a little on his individual performance and how he is fitting in as a freshmen. His answer was, "It was a lot harder than high school in the beginning and really trying to adjust and the guys were super nice, and we all came together. The team is a major joy to play with."
The Panthers will have a short turnover as they look to take on their first conference opponent in Paul Smith's tomorrow 11/12 at Paul Smith's.
