Albany, NY - The women's soccer team took on Paul Smith's College on Tuesday night in their first home game of the season. With a lot of new faces, the Panthers had some nervousness early on and it showed.
The Bobcats controlled the ball from the initial kickoff, outshooting the Panthers 5 -1, but the Panthers defense held them scoreless. In the second half, the Panthers controlled the ball some more, creating more of a 50-50 balance as both teams got 6 shots off. Ka'ena Kehano (Wailuku, HI) led the team with 3 shots, but unfortunately none of them found the back of the net.
As for the Bobcats, they scored one runaway goal with about 15 minutes left of the game to take a 1-0 lead. The Panthers were unable to answer and eventually lost the game by that score.
The Panthers will have a few days off until Saturday when they host CMCC in a double header.
