Albany, NY - The basketball teams hosted the UMA Moose in a double header on Saturday evening right before the major snow storm hit NY.
The women tipped off at 3pm and showed signs early of good ball movement and defense, but that was soon overcome by the Moose's offense. They kept drilling threes left and right, building a 24-point halftime lead.
The second half was all about defense for UMA as they held the Panthers to only 2 points in the third quarter. The fourth was more of the same as the Panthers went on to lose the game 87-33.
The men's game tipped off shortly afterward in what would be a much closer game. The Moose built a small lead for themselves early on, which the Panthers cut down to only three points at halftime.
In the second half, it was a constant back and forth. Both teams were drilling threes and forcing turnovers in a high intensity game. The Moose hit a few more threes than the Panthers and built a lead that was as big as nine points late in the half, a deficit which the Panthers were unable to overcome, ultimately losing the game 85-78.
Both teams continue their slumps as they will try to end their losing streaks on Tuesday when they travel to Word of Life to take on the Huskies.
