Albany, NY - Men's soccer hosted SUNY Cobleskill on Wednesday night in the rain.
The game started pretty evenly with a constant back and forth until senior Ian Rathbun (Queensbury, NY) was given a penalty kick. As expected, the ball found the back of the net to give the Panthers an early 1-0 lead. The Fighting Tigers responded with a goal of their own about ten minutes later to tie the game. However, Ian Rathbun was not done yet. He scored yet again, his fifth goal on the year already, to regain the lead. The Tigers once again answered to tie the game 2-2 going into the half.
In the second half, the Panthers made a goalie change to give Aaron Connell (Voorheesville, NY) his first career collegiate soccer minutes. He held down the fort recording seven impressive saves while shutting out the Tigers for the half. Cobleskill reciprocated the good defense as the Panthers were unable to find the back of the net again.
The game ended in a 2-2 draw, the first tie of the season for the Panthers. ACP will have a week off to prepare for their next game against FMCC on Wednesday at 7:30 PM.
