The ACPHS women's basketball team defeated Bard College by a score of 65-49 on Tuesday night as
Alexa Schooley scored 14 points to help the Panthers improve to 6-1 with their third straight victory.
Alyson Johnson added 12 points, seven assists and a season-high six blocks as ACPHS gave the Raptors their first loss of the season.
The first half ended with ACPHS holding a 31-25 advantage as they were able to hold Bard to just 28% shooting from the field. Johnson scored 10 of her points in the opening half to help stake the Panthers to the lead. Throughout the second half, ACPHS was able to slowly pull away as each of the five players in the starting lineup scored at least nine points.
Tytravia Riley, who had game-highs of 26 points and an amazing 30 rebounds, scored at the 11 minute mark to pull Bard to within 38-35. Over the next six minutes, ACPHS went on a 20-6 run to open up an insurmountable lead. The run was fueled by Schooley who had seven points for ACPHS.
The Panthers finish out the semester with a home game on Friday evening at 6:00 PM against Alfred University as ACPHS seeks its fourth victory over an NCAA Division III opponent this season.
