BOX SCORE
Albany, N.Y. – Senior forward
Kelsey Johnson (Malone, N.Y.) surpassed the 1,000-point scoring mark for her career Thursday evening, finishing with a team-high 21 points to lead the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences women's basketball team to a 68-54 win over visiting Davis College at Albert M. White Gymnasium. The Panthers improve to 16-5 on the season with the win and won their fourth in a row at home.

Entering the game with 988 career points, Johnson vaulted over the 1,000-point barrier with a three-pointer three minutes and 49 seconds into the second half; head coach
Andrew Pelletier called timeout and the ACPHS athletic department honored her with a brief ceremony and presentation of the game ball.

The Panthers never trailed in the contest, using a 10-point halftime lead and a 19-point edge with 4:16 remaining to hold off the pesky Falcons and their high-scoring forward Amber Wright. Wright scored more than half of her team's points by herself, finishing with 28 points, 12 rebounds and four steals.

Johnson's final stat line included 21 points, eight rebounds, four assists and three blocked shots to spark the Panthers. She was joined in double figures by junior forward
Taylor Sullivan (Troy, N.Y.), who posted a 15-point, 10-rebound double-double, and junior guard
Megan Serley (Oriskany, N.Y.), who tallied 13 points, seven rebounds, five assists and three steals. Junior forward
Alexa Schooley (Auburn, N.Y.) contributed a game-high 14 rebounds and five assists to the ACPHS cause.

Besides the efforts of Wright, Holly Hempill also had a double-double for Davis with 14 points and 12 rebounds. The Falcons fall to 14-5 on the year with the loss.

The Panthers visit NCAA Division III opponent Morrisville State at 3:00 pm Saturday before returning home for a 12:00 pm Sunday tip-off against New Hampshire Technical Institute in its final home contest of the 2013-14 season.
