ACPHS trailed by five at the half, but only allowed 11 points in the 2^nd half on their way to a 42-33 win over Bard College Wednesday night. Albany is now 5-3 overall, while Bard remains winless at 0-7.

Although the final margin of nine suggests otherwise, but this game was back-and-forth throughout. Bard led for 16:53, while the Panthers held an advantage for 18:15. In the early going the Raptors seemed poised to come out on top, as they shot 10 of 24 from the floor in the opening half. At five minutes left in the 2^nd quarter, Bard led by 11 which was their largest lead of the game. ACPHS only made six field goals in the half and none from three, but held a 5-0 advantage from the line that kept them in the game. Senior Rebecca Foote (Arcade, NY / Pioneer) only scored two points, but claimed three assists, taking part in four of six of the Panthers made baskets.

ACPHS clamped down in the 2^nd half, holding the Raptors to 11 points on 5 of 25 shooting. After the Panthers took a two-point advantage with one minute left in the 3^rd, they never looked back. Dannie Griffin (Paramus, NJ / Paramus Catholic) recorded another double-double with her game-high 11 points and ten boards, five of which were offensive. Foote would double her assist total to six, and finish with a balanced line of nine points, five rebounds, and three steals. For Bard, Annie Kissel and Caleigh DeCaprio led the way with eight points each, but it was not enough to overcome the stifling Panther defense. In all, ACPHS forced 28 turnovers and created 20 points off of them compared to just 15 and five for Bard.

ACPHS will look to extend their winning streak to five when they take on Southern Maine CC at 12pm on Saturday, Dec. 10. Bard looks for their first win also on Saturday at home to SUNY Cobleskill.
