Albany, NY - The women's volleyball team wrapped up a three game stretch spanning five days on Wednesday afternoon against Paul Smith's College.
On Saturday, they headed to New Hampshire to play both NHTI and Great Bay in back-to-back games. In the first game against NHTI, they jumped to a 2-0 lead behind
Morgan Bohlke (Glenville, NY) team leading 8 kills and team captain
Kathryn Braun (Guilderland, NY) who had an astonishing 20 assists. The Lynx did not give up as it was a back and forth battle that sent the game to 5 sets. Despite 12 combined kills from
Ella Tangorra (Syracuse, NY) and Abby Kievit (Oneonta, NY), the Lynx won the final set to emerge victorious.
Immediately following their heartbreaking loss, they took out their frustration on Great Bay by once again jumping to a 2-0 lead, this time behind Bohlke who nearly doubled her kill count at 15 and
Angelina Tamburro (Hudson, NY) who led the team with 17 digs. The Herons manaegd to win the third set, but the Panthers made their mark in the fourth and won the match by a score of 3-1.
After a few days of rest, the Panthers then took on the Paul Smith's Bobcats on Wednesday afternoon at home. The height difference proved to be too much as the Bobcats beat the Panthers at every position and won the match 3-0. Tangorra led the team with 4 kills, while head coach
Glenn Warnock had this to say after the game, "We stayed with them pretty well the first two sets." He then went on to explain how he's going to prepare in practice this week to take on both CMCC and SMCC this upcoming Sunday.
